I usually agree with you, but today I'm here to offer a contrasting point of view: why deem existence "absurd"? In contrast to what? Surely it can be absurd, but it can also be completely logical and even somewhat boring. It can also be wonderful, or awful, artful and paradoxical, or completely mathematical and simple. In fact, [insert your adjective here]. Anything fits, and everything fits AT ONCE.
At the end of the day, this feeling of wonder you speak of is a choice. Not the only choice, but A choice. It feels good - which is why a lot of Taoist and Buddhist choose it - but it's nothing more than a conscious decision "collapsing" one of the infinite possibilities that could very well manifest in its place.
I'm a Buddhist myself, but I never understood this general fascination with choosing ONE thing over all of the other possibilities "just because". That's probably why I'm not into the cosmology or dogma of it. Then again, maybe it's not a Buddhist thing. It's just a religious thing - and I don't have the ability to be a religious person :)
Anyway, great read. Just reflecting.
