I've grappled with the same realisation for a good few years. Not saying this is the definite conclusion, but I arrived at something: we can always offer our perspective in a somewhat enigmatic way. Usually, an open-minded person will try to decipher the riddle (and come back). A close-minded one will take it at face value and forget about it.
