Salerno seems to be putting the cart before the horses a bit. Just my two cents. But it's a beginning, imperfect like any beginning.

Both my grandmother and mother were "difficult" kids, and they used to tell the stories themselves as if weirdly proud of it - including very concerning behaviours like grandmother hitting another girl at school in the head with a brick because she felt "annoyed" by her, then not even visiting her in the hospital or ever apologising. My mother tells a story of how her sister was basically disowned from the family and abandoned to go survive on her own "because she was annoying" too. They both tell these tales (and more) with a proud smirk, I believe, to this day. Can't verify that as I'm no contact, but they definitely did until 2020.

I didn't have any such behaviours myself, neither did my brother, any of my mother's siblings or ancestors, and anyone on father's side. Make of that what you will.
