Yes, you're spot on. It's beyond time we stop trying to silence the PATIENTS just because they didn't go to med school (or mental health school). This is a topic I've already been talking about and will probably continue to, because people are so oblivious to it: mental health professionals aren't all-knowing or immune to failure.

It's funny how we all seem to accept that "it takes a while to find a good therapist", "you need to connect with your therapist, or go look for another", etc, but on the same breath we say "only the therapists know about mental health, mere mortals like you and I shouldn't talk about it". Very hypocritical.

I do understand the sentiment or trying not to be like the crazy conspiracy theorists who reject science but... really? Isn't there a middle ground? Why believe that you either take everything psychologists blog about as gospel OR you're some sort of denialist weirdo? I mean, there's more to the spectrum than these 2 extremes. Just sayin.
